Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, witnessed the signing of the agreement for the project to produce green hydrogen, its derivatives, and green ammonia in the Gargoub region, between the General Authority for the Port of Alexandria, affiliated with the Ministry of Transport, and the New and Renewable Energy Development and Use Authority, affiliated with the Ministry of Electricity, with the alliance of the company (Demi Highport Energy NV). Belgian).
According to project information, an international coalition led by the Belgian company Demi will pump an investment cost for the three phases of the project amounting to 24 billion euros, including 3 billion euros for the first phase to produce 2 million tons of green ammonia annually.
This came on the sidelines of the joint Egyptian-European Investment Conference, held in Cairo over the course of June 29 and 30.
